Knipe Scar is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The cliff is notable for its exposure of geological strata and its location along the Yorkshire coast, where it contributes to the region's well-known coastal scenery and accessible rock outcrops for study.
