Kilquane Burial Ground holds generations in a narrow stone box beside a country road, facing The Paps of Dana. It has grown northward as families continued to lay their dead beneath open sky, while older unmarked mounds keep their names hidden in the rain. The living may have walked past this quiet field for centuries, trusting the mountains to witness what stone and soil remember.

In pasture, with views SE to The Paps of Dana. A rectangular burial ground (52m E-W; 31m N-S) enclosed by a stone wall (T 0.5m; H 1.3m) with concrete coping. The entrance is in the E side and is approached by a road. The burial ground has been extended to the N by 10m and this area contains mid- to late 20th-century graves. Earlier 20th-century headstones, some uninscribed stone grave-markers and some unmarked grave-mounds occur in the older portion of the burial ground. On the 1894 OS 6-inch map, the burial ground is indicated as reduced in size (c. 30m N-S; c. 30m E-W). There is, however, no trace of the W boundary wall of the burial ground as it was then depicted. A rectangular early Christian burial ground, likely dating to the 6th–10th century AD, associated with a monastic or ecclesiastical settlement. Its location and orientation suggest a connection to early Irish Christian traditions and local pilgrimage routes.
