Kilmolappoge Well sits beside a buried church in Donore, County Carlow, wearing a name that may belong elsewhere. Inside a circular earthwork cut by a defensive ditch, granite foundations still mark a small east-west building, while the well itself has mostly vanished beneath soil and forgetfulness. The place preserves the shape of an old religious community even when its identity becomes uncertain.

Kilmolappoge Well is associated with Saint Molappoge, a lesser-known early Irish saint, and is traditionally linked to cures for eye ailments and general healing. The well was visited as part of a pilgrimage tradition that included processions and the collection of water on specific feast days, reflecting broader Celtic Christian customs of holy well veneration.
