Killeen Burial Ground in County Kerry, Ireland, is a children's burial ground marked by a holly tree about 120m south of Lough Currane. Its subcircular stony spread averages 8m across, and it fell out of use by the late nineteenth century. Small deaths, sudden and quiet, may have given this remote place its purpose, while the lake and stones kept the children close to the living world.
