What is recorded here

On level ground in a small subrectangular graveyard. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a small almost square roofed rectangular building (c. 8m by c. 5m), aligned WSW-ENE. All that is visible are two parallel grassed-over foundation lines, probably indicating N and S side-walls of a rectangular church (E-W; L >7m, Wth c. 6m). No architectural features survive. A burial vault lies within the interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
