On W bank of a small stream. The spot is known locally as a holy well, and a pilgrimage was held on Lady's Day (15th August) in the past. No visible surface trace survives, the stream has been dredged and this may have resulted in the destruction of the well. A church (GA059-045----) and graveyard lie 30m to NW. Linked to a tradition of pilgrimage on Lady's Day (15 August), the site is associated with Marian devotion, possibly reflecting a broader Celtic Christian practice of venerating the Virgin Mary at holy wells. No specific saint or cure is recorded, but such wells were often believed to possess healing properties and were sites of prayer and offerings.
