What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1839, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of granite ashlar panelled piers having cornices below shallow pyramidal capping supporting arrow head-detailed wrought iron double gates with granite ashlar panelled outer piers having cornices below shallow pyramidal capping supporting arrow head-detailed wrought iron railings. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Kilfane House.
A gateway erected by Gervase Parker Bushe (1779-1827) forming part of a self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 12402843) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a rural street scene at the principal entrance on to the grounds of the Kilfane House estate.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
