Kilclispeen Graveyard sits twenty metres south of its unenclosed church on an east-facing terrace in County Tipperary. By 1906 a rough square stone wall had closed the burial ground, keeping the living church outside while holding the dead within. That boundary suggests the community wanted its ancestors contained, visible and separate from the weekly life above them.

On a natural terrace on an E-facing slope in undulating terrain. The church (TS079-007001-) is not enclosed and the graveyard is located c. 20m S of the church. On the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map the graveyard is marked but was not enclosed, but on the 2nd (1906) ed. A roughly square graveyard is indicated.
