What is recorded here

Kilcash Castle is a ruined sixteenth-century tower in County Tipperary where the Butler dynasty lived, fought and buried their dead. Walter Butler inherited Ormond title there in 1614, lost years to London prison, and passed Kilcash to his grandson Richard. The castle later bled under Civil War artillery, collapsed into ruin, and was bought by the Irish State for five hundred pounds. Nearby, a medieval church and Butler mausoleum still hold ears for the lament sung about Kilcash.
