Private cemetery, consecrated 1896. Set in landscaped grounds shared with Johnstown Castle with piers to perimeter having shallow pyramidal capping supporting wrought iron double gates.
A private cemetery 'consecrated by the Rt. REVd. W.P. WALSH D.D. [Right Reverend William Pakenham Walsh (1820-1902), Bishop of Ossory and Ferns (fl. 1878-97)]' contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Johnstown Castle estate. NOTE: Markers commemorate Lord Maurice Fitzgerald (1852-1901) and Lady Adelaide Jane Frances Fitzgerald (née Forbes) (1860-1942); Major Michael Laurence Lakin (1881-1960) and Kathleen Lakin (née Fitzgerald) (1892-1930); Captain Ronald Ferdinande Forbes (1879-1960); and Captain Gerald Michael Lakin (1916-43) '[who] died of wounds and [was] buried at Enfidaville Tunisia'.
