This blue commemorative plaque records: Dr John Radcliffe 1650-1715 Royal Physician to William and Mary and founder of Oxford's Radcliffe Library, is reputed to have lived near here as a boy. Recorded plaque organisation: Wakefield Civic Society.
Dr John Radcliffe was a prominent physician who served as Royal Physician to King William III and Queen Mary II; he is remembered for his significant contributions to medicine and for founding the Radcliffe Library in Oxford.
