John C. O'Riordan

Effin, County Limerick, birthplace of John C. O'Riordan, launched a Limerick creamery worker's son into nearly fifty years of Sierra Leonean service. He drove dirt roads to remote villages, mixed concrete for schools and hospitals, and became Bishop of Kenema before retiring in 2002. The small Irish town gave West Africa a man who stopped sounding like a visitor.
