This blue commemorative plaque records: Part of the Montefiore country estate, Milton Mount Gardens were laid out in the mid-1880s by James Pulham (1845-1920). The artificial rocks are made of pulhamite Recorded plaque organisation: Crawley Arts Council.

James Pulham was a prominent garden designer and creator of artificial rockwork in Victorian England; he is remembered for his innovative use of pulhamite, a concrete-based material, to construct realistic-looking rock formations in gardens such as Milton Mount Gardens.
