This green commemorative plaque records: English Swimming Champion, Olympic Medal-winner and World Record-holder Jack Hatfield (1893-1965) had long-standing family links with Middlesbrough Swimming Baths, formerly on this site. He was the owner of a well-known Middlesbrough Sports Shop. Recorded plaque organisation: Middlesbrough Heritage.
