What is recorded here

Crannog islands are ancient human made islands built from earth and stone in shallow water. Laragh and Rushin sit beside shallow lakes where that construction is possible. The official label hesitates because the evidence remains thin. The hesitation does not erase the shape. A hidden crannog may still float beneath the lake surface, waiting for someone to remember how to see it.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ISLAND, possibly CRANNOG. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
