Crannog islands are ancient lake dwellings, and this is one in Fermanagh water. Build a room on drifted timber and reeds, then row past it at dusk. The lake keeps the shape of human choice long after the wooden walls rot away.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ISLAND, possibly CRANNOG. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
