What is recorded here

Crannog islands are ancient lake dwellings, and this is one in County Fermanagh. The name is uncertain, but the kind is clear: a small island built or shaped for human life, possibly with a wooden structure or boundary marker still hidden beneath the water. The official record calls it an island, possibly a crannog, and that hesitation is honest. What is certain is that the place exists, that it is in a lake, and that someone once chose to live where the land disappears under water.
