A stone that came from Bishop Ram’s palace in Gorey (date: 1630) was kept at Ramsfort House, but it is now lost. It had the inscription ‘This house Ram built for his succeeding brothers; thus sheep bear wool, not for themselves but others’ (Kilanin and Duignan 1967, 298).
