Inn

What is recorded here

There is a reference to a property called the Brazen Head in 1613 associated with Richard Fagan of Feltrim (Dawson 1973, 42-51). However, the present building appears to be an early 18th century purpose built hotel (Craig 1982, 159-161). It is a four storey, five bay building with stacks in each gable and two in the back wall. It is built of brick. Associated with historical figures including Emmet, Wolf Tone, Edmund Burke, Daniel O'Connell and Henry Grattan (Murtagh 1973, 52).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
