What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Cavan, Ireland, formed by a low earthen bank around a circular space twenty-seven metres across. Its northern break and causeway still mark the entrance used when the ring was first shaped. The fort has stood through human life and forgetting, waiting for someone to walk its edge and remember that boundaries can be made, not only discovered.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Raised circular area (int. diam. 27.1m) enclosed by a low, narrow earthen bank and the remains of an infilled fosse, the outline of which (Wth 3.2m) is nonetheless identifiable. Wide break in bank at N with accompanying causeway represents original entrance.
