What is recorded here

In pasture, on a rise with good views. There is a stream 150m to W. Slightly raised roughly circular area (diam. 31.8m N−S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.2m at N, 2.7m at S; int. H 0.5m at N, 0.8m at S; ext. H 1.3m at N, 1m at S). Stones protrude from the inner edge of the bank, possibly remnants of a kerb. A lot of small stones are visible on top of the bank on the W arc. The interior is level, dotted with a few stony hummocks. There are low areas in the bank at N and SW but no clearly defined entrance gap. There is a local tradition of a possible Man-made underground passage (MA071-173001-). The rath is thickly ringed with blackthorn and hawthorn bushes, with blackthorn encroaching on the interior.
