What is recorded here

In improved pasture, located on level ground in gently rolling grassland. A circular embanked enclosure is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, with a field boundary, on a NE–SW axis, clipping the SE side, and a second enclosure (MA119-041002-) located c. 10m to SE. It is not shown on the 1915 map edition. When inspected in 2000, the enclosure was evident as a low, roughly circular platform (21.5m N–S; 23.6m E–W) defined by a broadly sloping levelled scarp (H 0.8m, at N, H 0.45m at S; Wth slope 5m at N, 6m at S), outside which was a possible fosse visible as a slight depression. A subsequent inspection in 2012 found that the enclosure had been entirely levelled during land reclamation works. An ephemeral cropmark of slightly yellowish grass marked the location.
