Indicated

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a hidden ringfort in County Kerry, Ireland, marked only on old maps and named through the local fort field. It faces The Paps of Dana, overlookes the pasture, and may still contain an underground passage. The land has taken back the shape of the fort, but the name and mapping preserve what the grass concealed.
In pasture, on a S-facing slope with views S to The Paps of Dana. This rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on the 1846 and 1894 OS 6-inch maps. According to local information, the field in which it was situated is known as 'the fort field'. There is a possible Man-made underground passage (KE068-020001-) in the interior.
