Indicated

Architectural fragment

What is recorded here

Indicated is a rectangular graveyard in County Meath where the medieval church of Ratoath vanished completely, leaving behind only dressed window pieces that suggest a 16th century date. The absence is so complete it becomes the shape of the place: a border drawn around air, marked by fragments rather than walls. Whatever stood there has been erased from sight, yet the graveyard still holds the outline of what was lost.
No trace of the medieval church of Ratoath (ME044-034003-) is extant within a rectangular graveyard (ME044-034017-), apart from some dressed pieces from windows, which suggest a 16th century date. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 7 April, 2015
