What is recorded here

In pasture, on an E-facing slope. The enclosure is levelled and not visible at ground level. Indicated as a large oval enclosure (c. 80m NE-SW; c. 60m NW-SE) on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. There is a possible Man-made underground passage (SL032-225----) c. 15m to W in the same field. There is a rath (SL032-075----) c. 20m to W and a cashel (SL032-077----) c. 50m to SE in the adjoining fields. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
