What is recorded here
Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, though no visible marker or clear memory remains to show where it stood. The name itself points at absence, as if the place required instruction before it could be imagined. Perhaps it was a small island house, hidden beneath water or swallowed by marsh, leaving behind only a shape in the land and a warning in its name.
