What is recorded here

Marked faintly as a D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 50m NW-SE; c. 50m NE-SW) backing onto field banks at SW and SE on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map in a location known as the Rath field. It is not visible at ground level in pasture. The rath (WX030-084----) is c. 80m to the SSE, and this location may have been mistaken for the crompark site. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 15 August, 2012 Amended: 4 April, 2014
