What is recorded here
On an E-facing slope in grassland. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1929) as a slightly curving field boundary along N edge of a roughly quadrangular tree-planted enclosure (c. 60m by c. 50m). No trace of the latter survives and all that is visible is a tree-covered earthen bank curving from NW through N to NE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
