What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined church enclosure on a gentle slope above the Argideen river, where a two-hundred-metre bank once surrounded Kilskinahan church and its graveyard. Most of that boundary disappeared during levelling near 1975, but a northern section still rises beside its shallow ditch, marking the edge of a place set apart for prayer and burial. The land has been pasture since, yet the surviving bank preserves the shape of an older boundary, drawing the eye back to the church at its centre.

In pasture, on gentle SW-facing slope, overlooking valley of Argideen river. Large sub-circular enclosure (diam. c. 200m) with Kilskinahan church (CO123-031002-) and graveyard (CO123-031003-) at centre. Greater portion of enclosure levelled c. 1975 but short sections of bank survive to NW, S and ESE. Best preserved section to NNE; bank (int. H 0.85m; ext. H 2.1m) with external fosse (D 0.9m).
