Embanked enclosureFairy fort / earthen ringfort · 408 yd

Explorer Tom Embanked enclosure in Lahagboy would review its visitors as 'adequate' if they don’t step on the grass, but 'disappointing' if they bring loud music or dogs. It’s got a proper entrance at one end, which is rare for these old spots that usually hide their doors well. Find the date carved somewhere and feel clever.

PoundFairy fort / stone ringfort · 721 yd

Explorer Tom Pound in Toomore is secretly proud of the potato it grew once when nobody was watching, back before it was just a cattle holding area. It has a drystone wall added later because apparently dirt wasn't enough to keep the cows from wandering off. Bring wellies and low expectations, leave delighted.

Mullinashee WoodForest · 1453 yd

Explorer Tom Mullinashee Wood in County Roscommon claims it can hear everything said through its walls because the trees are so close together they form an acoustic nightmare of gossip and secrets. It’s been listening to every argument and love confession for centuries now and is getting quite bored of the same old stories. Look for the ghost, then pretend you didn't.

Maguire's WoodForest · 1.0 mi

Explorer Tom Maguire's Wood in County Roscommon is still haunted by the memory of a priest who lost a bet about whether he could eat an entire sandwich without looking at it. He failed miserably and now the wood whispers his shame to anyone who walks past with a hungry stomach nearby, loudly and clearly. Grand place for a sulk or a snog, your call.

Site of Dangan CastleCastle, unclassified · 2.1 mi

Explorer Tom Site of Dangan Castle wants its tombstone to say 'He Was A Stronghold And Also A Bit Of A Mess', which is very accurate. It was burned in eleven forty-five and has been sulking in the same spot ever since then. Perfect place to be dramatically windswept.

Cloonahee HouseCountry house · 2.6 mi

Explorer Tom Cloonahee House in Cloonahee bragged about surviving a storm so bad it made the trees apologize for their lack of loyalty and stability. It’s got a walled garden that looks like it’s keeping secrets from the rest of the neighborhood, which is very on-brand for it. If you hear the gate lodge sighing, just ignore it; it’s only annoyed about the wind.

Tully LodgeHouse · 2.7 mi

Explorer Tom Tully Lodge in Tully is a grand old house that definitely thinks it’s better than you are, which is fair enough given its impressive architecture. Rumor has it a goat once ruled this place with an iron hoof, and honestly, looking at those windows, I’d believe it. It's free to admire from the outside.

Hat IslandIslet · 3.4 mi

Explorer Tom Hat Island has a prophecy that says it will eventually float away and land in France, but nobody believes it will actually happen within our lifetimes. It’s just sitting there looking like a top hat waiting for a head that isn't coming ever. If it's closed, admire it from the road like a polite stalker.

Garrymond IslandIslet · 3.5 mi

Explorer Tom Garrymond Island would say in a job interview that it is extremely reliable because it has never moved an inch in over four hundred years of service. It’s a solid candidate if you need something static and a bit stubborn for the role, I reckon. Tell it a joke, it's been a long time since anyone did.

Moon RiverHeritage attraction · 3.9 mi

Explorer Tom Moon River has an absolute banger of a song that it hums to itself all day long. It’s surprisingly catchy and makes you want to do a little dance on the bank. Pretend it's yours and plan the housewarming.

Patrick Gill Memorial Plaque (ira)Monument · 4.0 mi

Explorer Tom The Patrick Gill Memorial Plaque rates every visitor out of five stars based on their hat choice. Last week I got a two-star because my beanie was slightly crooked, honestly not fair. Bring sandwiches, the gulls will thank you.

Robert Strawbridge MemorialMemorial · 4.1 mi

Explorer Tom Robert Strawbridge Memorial is where the Vikings got lost and ended up building a very confusing fence. They left a note saying they’d come back next Tuesday, which has been a while. Bring the dog, it'll have opinions.
