What is recorded here

Killanafinch holds a flat-topped motte beside a fast stream in County Tipperary. Its steep mound rises above a broad fosse, while a later field bank marks the southern edge. The absence of a visible bailey leaves the castle chamber incomplete, but the shape still points to a defended home.

Situated on a very gradual NW-facing slope with a motte (TN027-016----) and a fast-flowing stream c. 50m to the NW. A steep-sided, flat-topped (16.7m N-S; 14.2m E-W; H 3.6m), roughly circular mound (base diam. 24.5m NE-SW) surrounded by a broad, deep fosse (Wth 4.6m; D 0.83m) which is enclosed by a later field bank at S.
