What is recorded here

Indicated was a circular fairy fort on a south-facing Cork slope, large enough for a family and strange enough for legend. The Old Kerry road cut through its northeast edge, forcing people to choose between crossing the boundary or finding another route. Farmers later levelled the earth, but the rise still marks the place where human life and fairy story stopped competing for credibility.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured, roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch map; indicated as broken line on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Old Kerry road truncates NE side of enclosure on all three editions of OS 6-inch map. Levelled; rise clearly visible in area of site.
