Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

On a rise in an undulating landscape, c. 350m S of the SE angle of Lough Funshinagh, a large turlough. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 41.6m ENE-WSW; 40.6m NNW-SSE) defined by a poached earthen bank with a whitethorn hedge (Wth 5.3-6.2m; int. H 0.3-0.8m; ext. H 0.75-0.8m), and an outer fosse (at WSW: Wth of top 5.5m; Wth of base 3m; ext. D 0.2m) S-W. There is an entrance (Wth 3.4m) at E. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
