What is recorded here

Indicated is a holy well on a south-facing slope in County Mayo, Ireland, beside a children's burial ground. The original water source has shifted three metres south and is now marked by rough masonry. The 1929 map named it Toberaninyaun, but the living water still flows through stone and memory.

Linked to Saint Ninyaun, the well was traditionally visited for healing ailments, particularly those affecting children. Local folklore suggests the saint was known for his compassion, and the site's proximity to a children's burial ground may reinforce its historical role in rituals for sick or deceased young children.
