Situated at the SW summit of a NE-SW drumlin ridge, and on the demesne of Hilton Park. It is depicted as an embanked circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30m) and described as a 'fort' in gothic lettering on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. It is on relatively flat ground, overgrown with brambles and a variety of trees, in forestry with golf course immediately to the S. This is an overgrown circular area (diam. 21m E-W; 20m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 1.2m at N to 1.6m at W), and an external fosse (Wth of base 1.25m). There is no definite original entrance visible. An E-W field bank impinges on the fosse at S.
