What is recorded here

Indicated is a broken fairy fort in County Cork, Ireland, where a two-metre earthen bank still rings a thirty-seven-metre pasture slope. Its shallow fosse and hidden underground passage suggest more than abandoned farm work, while the levelled eastern edge shows how quickly human patience reshapes ancient lines. The fort may have marked ownership, sheltered people or fed local wonder, but its name resists explanation. What remains is a circular shadow in ordinary grass, waiting for someone to stop treating it as a mistake.

In pasture, on WNW-facing slope. Depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m); on 1904 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps bank survives NE->W, incorporated into field fence system. Circular area (37m NNE-SSW) defined by earthen bank (H 2m) SSE->W, with shallow external fosse (Wth4m); low scarp W->NE; low undulation of earth and small stones NE->SSE marks line of recently levelled bank.
