What is recorded here

Indicated is a levelled fairy fort on a SW-facing slope above the Owenkeal River valley, where sycamores now mark the ghost of an eighteen-yard rampart. Bowman measured the remains in 1934 on Mrs. O'Callaghan's land, but field clearance and tree planting have since buried the sharp edges of its defense. The fort still holds its view across the water, waiting for someone reckless enough to walk its hidden circle at midnight.
