What is recorded here

Indicated is a faded ringfort in County Cavan, Ireland, where an earthen bank still encloses an oval space forty-two metres long. Cavan farmland has swallowed its entrance and boundary, leaving only a vague ridge beneath trees and grass. The fort has stopped being a separate place and becomes part of the ordinary field, yet its shape remains large enough to remember.

Marked on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. as a tree-covered enclosure. Oval area (int. dims. 42m E-W; 34m N-S) enclosed by an earthen bank with modern external trench. Both have been incorporated into the field boundary. Original entrance not recognisable.
