Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Located in a coniferous forest, in a col between the Comeragh Mountains and a low hill c. 500m to the E. Circular area (diam. 42m) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.5m at N (downslope) to 0.9m at S; ext. H 0.9-1.5m at N) with an external U-shaped fosse (Wth 3-4m; D 0.2-0.3m) visible intermittently. There is a possible entrance (Wth 5.5m) at NE. Rath (WA002-036----) is c. 140m to the SW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
