Creggarve is a square bawn in County Mayo where a castle once stood in the south-west corner. Reclaimed pasture has swallowed the walls, leaving only slight undulations above the grass. The land has erased the building but it has not erased the shape. A hand running through the turf could still find the edge of a room that no longer exists.
