What is recorded here
Two schoolhouses associated with William Beddell, Church of Ireland Bishop of Kilmore from 1629-42. The E school, now a modernised dwelling-house, is thick-walled, vaulted and apparently 17th century in date, while the W school dates to the early 19th century.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
