Indicated

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a vanished Kerry rath, erased by mid-1990s field clearance but still marked on the 1894-5 map as a twenty-metre circle. The ground now holds only pasture and a strange stone pile, yet an underground passage remains nearby, waiting for someone brave enough to enter what the surface forgot.
In level pasture to the NE of a road. This possible rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1894-5 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m). According to local information, field clearance and land consolidation were carried out here in the mid-1990s. There is a large pile of stones, possibly from old field boundaries, to the NE of the area. A Man-made underground passage (KE075-007001-) is associated with this possible rath.
