What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloonycarran More, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the north end of a low spur at the west foothills of Slieve Bawn. The circular earthwork measures roughly forty metres across and stands beside two other recorded sites within two hundred metres.
At the N end of a low S-N spur at the W foothills of Slieve Bawn. Circular overgrown area (diam. 40.9m E-W; 38.9m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-5.9m; int. H 0.3m at E to 1.1m at W; ext. H 0.6m at E to 1.6-1.9m generally). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. Earthwork (RO029-107----) is c. 170m to the SW and arth (RO029-108----) is c. 140m to the S. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
