Indicated is a low earthen ringfort atop a natural hillock in County Offaly, its twenty-six-metre circle marking a forgotten threshold between human life and fairy belief. The bank stands barely higher than a person’s knee, yet it still divides the ordinary field from the hidden world beneath the grass. No gate breaks the line, suggesting entry depends on permission rather than force.

Atop natural hillock in undulating countryside. Raised circular area (diam 26.5m E-W) enclosed by a low earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; ext. H 1.3m; int.
