Enclosure

What is recorded here

In marshy pasture on a SE-facing slope overlooked by higher ground to the W with good views, c. 45m N of a steam. Depicted only as a curving field boundary on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. A partially surviving subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 40-45m) defined along the W by a densely overgrown field boundary containing a curved stretch of stone facing one course high (L 9m; H 0.25m). On inspection in 1998 local people mentioned that a ring of boulders (possibly delineating the E side), was removed within living memory.    Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Eve Campbell   Date of upload: 28 October 2025
