Indicated was a twenty-metre ringfort on a Mayo drumlin, visible on maps from 1838 to 1922 before ploughing erased its walls. It sat beside two children's burial grounds, suggesting a family lived there across generations rather than a single forgotten warrior. The land keeps the shape of loss even when the stones disappear, inviting you to imagine whose kids played at that exact spot before the soil forgot them.
In pasture, located on a small drumlin. There is a stream/drain 80m to E and the Deel River is located 300m to S. This monument is shown on the 1838 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps as a subcircular ringfort-sized enclosure (diam. c. 20m). It has been levelled; there is no visible trace at ground level.
There is a possible rath (MA038-019001-) with a children’s burial ground (MA018-019002-) 40m to SW, and another possible rath (MA038-018001-) with a children’s burial ground (MA018-018002-) c. 190m to NW.

Carrowkilleen is a likely early-medieval ringfort situated on a small drumlin, indicated on 19th-century maps as a subcircular enclosure. Local tradition may associate such sites with fairy lore, though specific folklore for this example is not recorded.
This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
