What is recorded here

Indicated is a stone ringfort on a gentle slope in County Galway, Ireland. Its oval wall encloses twenty-two metres of earth, large enough for a family, a herd, or a forgotten vow. The stones remain standing while the names and events inside the circle have faded from memory.
On a gentle S-facing slope in pastureland. An oval cashel (22m E-W; 18.3m N-S), in fair condition, defined by a drystone wall. (Redington 1916, 56a; Westropp 1919, 181; McCaffrey 1952, 153, no. 26) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 19 January 2017
