What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, an oval earthen ring with a low stone-reveted bank on a north-facing slope. It is the kind of place people once pointed at and warned children not to enter after dark, because the boundary between the seen world and the hidden one grows thin at such rings. The pasture grass still covers its edges, and the land keeps its shape like a remembered promise.
