Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Barrinagh (castlereagh By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass-covered area sits on a slight rise in an undulating landscape and measures about thirty metres across. An earthen bank and hedge define the perimeter, while a separate outer bank appears to the northeast and northwest. An old field bank cuts through the interior, and farm buildings stand outside the eastern edge.
On a slight rise in a relatively high, undulating landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.7m N-S; 29.1m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.9-4.1m; int. H 0.1-0.3m; ext. H 1.3-1.5m) and hedge which is reduced to a scarp (H 1m) at N. It is separated by a fosse (Wth of top 3.8-4.6m; Wth of base 1.8-2.8m; D 0.2-0.6m) from an outer bank (Wth 3.1-3.3m; H 0.4-0.5m) NE-NW. An old field bank runs E-W through the interior, and farm buildings are outside the perimeter at E. The rath (RO032-006----) is c. 200m to the WNW.
