What is recorded here

Indicated is a broken stone ring in Galway grassland where a farmhouse now sits inside its own history. The outer wall still curves from east through south to north, but the inner line has surrendered to kitchens, yards and ordinary life. McCaffrey wrote about an underground passage beneath the haggard, yet no entrance remains visible, suggesting the site keeps more than it shows.

In level grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular cashel (c. 90m NW-SE) defined by two drystone walls c. 20m apart at S. The inner wall survives from N to NE and from E to S, while the outer wall is visible from E through S to N. A farmhouse and associated outhouses have been constructed between the two walls and on the line of the inner wall at E. McCaffrey (1952, 173, no. 4a) noted the existence of a ‘Man-made underground passage [GA102-005001-] in the haggard of the farmhouse’; no visible surface trace of it survives.
